Here in town for graduation and stopped in for breakfast. The location is great. Lots of street parking. Inside is really comfortable. *Disclaimer* I live in Dallas….these prices points were great! $20 for a bottle of mimosas. Husband ordered the smoked salmon scrambler and said it was great! I got the recovery plate. Eggs were perfectly scrambled. Bacon was crispy but not too much so and was a nice thick cut. I was really impressed by the hash brown casserole. Awesome flavors in there. I also got a side of oatmeal, thinking it was going to be a little cup, and it was a nice bowl. Brought over half of it back to eat later. Coffees: we orders the lavender love and cafe Leo. We leave tomorrow but I’ll go back for that cafe Leo. 100%. All this was great, but what sealed the deal was Michelle. Barista? Check. Bartender? Check. Server? Check. Food runner? Check. Cashier? Check. Friendly as hell? Double check! You can tell there are lots of regulars that come in, she knows their names and what they usually order. And finally, much to our surprise, they have Diplomático Rum. So, obs they know what’s the deal. The Rec Room is such a fun, welcoming spot. I usually pick the Recovery Plate because I can never decide on just one thing. It’s all amazing. Thank you to Brian and Sarah for pouring their heart and soul into this local gem. They have really created a cozy community space with local art and live music often. This place is obviously a favorite for locals. The decor is inviting and the staff are friendly. The service was a little slow to be honest, but that's because the server was understaffed. I wasn't in a rush or anything, so it didn't really matter. I feel like this place is more suitable for 3 people or less. Really chill coffee shop with great breakfast and lunch. Variety of coffee drinks as well as the standard coffee options, all really well done. I loved the avocado toast. There are pastries in the case to grab and go easily. Knowledgeable staff and great service. Yeah the food is excellent. Bla bla bla. Sure the people there are amazing. Yeah I know right? But the "Vibe." This place is stacked. It has the soul of a place that wants you be happy, content, and have a nice snack or a delicious meal. You time it right and there will even be great music and a cocktail in it for you. A week ago I went to the Rec Room for an early breakfast and it was exactly what I needed to start my busy day. I had the Delta B, which was so delicious. I got full after one half but powered through to finish the other because it was so yummy! Our waitress was also incredibly sweet, I wish I had caught her name.
